Law

I want to write about law. The more I observe the more I realize how ignorant many Christian people are on the subject, though to be honest I am not the scholar on the subject either but I do have a few opinions. It appears that people think they want a new law to address every aspect of their lives, or what would possibly be more correct, to address every aspect of everyone else’s lives. I am not great at putting my thoughts into words, spoken or written so I’ll use an example to try getting my thoughts across which is easier than just trying to explain without one! I’m listening to a beautiful song (a reliable tear producer to those so inclined) done by the Macdonald family (www.macdonaldfamilysingers.com) talking about abortion from the perspective of the baby, it’s not only beautifully performed but it’s heart wrenching to boot. Abortion is a great example to use here for my purposes, it’s one of the most despicable and nasty things on this planet, an awful sin, a horrid thing that shouldn’t even be in existence, actually it probably wouldn’t even be in existence but for the sin that the parents committed in the first place (most cases I would think). Abortion law (the legalizing of it) has created quite a stir for as long as I can remember, when I was little I remember we would always be at anti abortion deals at the capitol and I remember the tour of the capitol building I got at one of those rallies, I think the thing that impressed me most was the pink marble pillars but I am getting off track here. Here’s my opinion on the abortion law. I think there should be no abortion law, neither allowing it or forbidding it. If we make any law allowing or forbidding it we are also saying that man has the right to either allow or disallow the murder of children, which is not a right man has. God has already made the law and for man to tamper with it is actually extreme arrogance. God’s law says thou shalt not murder and please notice that doesn’t say thou shalt not murder unless the one murdered is unwanted, an accident or is to young to know any better. God’s law on this is so plain, there are no questions left to be asked!

Now, lets call abortion exactly what it is, murder. God’s law tells us what to do with murderers so we do not need to waste paper and tax dollars making up new laws dealing with such things. I really suspect that if every doctor that performed an abortion were taken out to some abandoned gravel pit and stoned to death we would have far fewer doing it, also, we can’t leave out those parents, they are murdering too so according to the law they are to be standing next to that doctor getting the stones too. I am quite sure there would be a lot fewer “accidental pregnancies” if this were implemented.

Now comes the hard part. It’s tough to read the law and stand up boldly saying that this or that person should be put to death because if I were to do that I would first have to pronounce that same sentence on myself, and after thinking of that and agreeing that without question I do qualify for the death sentence, I have yet to find anyone that would throw the first stone at me even if I asked and I cannot do the deed myself because that would add murder to the list of things. I guess that’s where Jesus fits in, without Him, well, I don’t want to think of that because things would be pretty sorry looking.
