Since I have blasted doctors I thought I should tell a little bit about staying healthy. Since that is a very important thing to consider when you decide to stay away from doctors care, it wouldn’t do to promise to stay away from doctors and then go out and do all of the things to make a person sick and need a doctor! That’s a little short sighted in my opinion.
This won’t be a complete course in health, just a few ideas that I keep handy, also realize this is just my way of thinking on the subject so it’s not gospel.
A disclaimer I must add, I have seen far more people ruin their health from worrying about eating everything just right than I have seen from eating an average diet. This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t eat a good diet but for goodness sakes don’t stress about it! My own mother ate about the best that is possible, she did everything “right” and knew all kinds of health secrets that are great but she worried and stressed about it so much and eventually turned it into her entire life to eat everything perfect and she still died of brain cancer at 44 years old! I would rather see someone eat cookies all day with a smile on their face and joy in their heart than existing on organic carrot juice, green drinks and fasting once a week and being a grouchy stressed out fanatic. Now don’t get the idea that I am saying Mom was a grouchy fanatic, she wasn’t; I am just trying to point out that diet plays a small and important part but attitude plays a far bigger part in health. Don’t get the idea that I am saying you should eat whatever happens to taste good at the moment either! I know a kid that is happy to let a handful of earthworms crawl around on his tongue before swallowing them and he is pretty healthy. The thought makes me sick already! I also don’t recommend eating the more normal junk food like sugary things and McDonalds hamburgers but if I happen to be at someone’s house and they serve a chocolate cake I don’t stress about eating my piece even though I usually regret the headache that comes afterward! It isn’t so much of what goes in the mouth that matters as much as how your body deals with it. Mine doesn’t deal with a lot of things very well, if I eat junk food and forget to drink enough water my skin will show it by tomorrow. Kyle could get away with eating at McDonalds every meal I think and would only get cancer in 100 years instead of dying in his tracks like I would probably do if I ate two meals there.
So my recommendation is, eat the best you can, don’t eat too much and work on keeping the essential body functions in perfect order, I think if you exercise and get enough water you could eat a lot of junk and get away with it! If you are going to be a fanatic about anything you eat be a fanatic about staying away from genetically engineered things, who knows, they may be feeding us the birth control corn in order to lower the birth rate. Such a sick and satanic project should have a bolt of lightning delivered right to the lab that developed it in my opinion.
Since the body is designed to completely rebuild itself (yes, even nerve and brain cells, contrary to modern medicine theory) and to be healthy, it only seems logical that if we give it the proper tools to work with the body will heal itself. God made us that way so we don’t really need to worry about this disease or that one, just how the body works and what keeps it working well.
There are several basic needs in the body that are almost always compromised in a person. Air, Water, Food and Exercise. There is a lot more really, especially in the mental area but I’ll just go into the basics now.
I guess we all get the above basics most of the time but the quality of them is often terrible and we rarely get enough. Ok, most people get more than enough food but they continue to be malnourished anyway. Why is that? Because the food they eat is trash, and not only is it trash it is devitalized, cooked to death, processed into a non food, full of chemicals and finally, even if it is reasonable, decent people can’t assimilate it because their digestion is in terrible shape. Almost everybody I meet is a walking, talking mess as far as the basic health issues are concerned. I’ll go down the list here to keep it somewhat organized.
Air. We all breathe, if we didn’t we would die rather rapidly. What we breathe is usually not much of a concern and it should be a concern. Often the air we breathe is filthy and we don’t even know it, if it isn’t filthy it is stale. It could be spray drift from the neighbor or it could be mold spores in the house or it could be smoke, formaldehyde from the new carpet, furniture or insulation, exhaust from the gas appliances and the list goes on and on. The lungs are our biggest eliminator, the skin is second. Bet you thought the bowel was didn’t you! Nope, the lungs can eliminate something like 70% of our toxins, in the form of carbon dioxide, which is a deadly poison, well, it isn’t so bad but what it was before the body treated it is really bad, I won’t go into the mechanics of how breathing works to show that but you ought to look it all up sometime because it is really interesting. Almost everybody breathes way too shallow, we use the top portion of our lungs when the bottom portion has by far the greater capacity and it just sits there doing nothing. Worse yet is the fact that when we don’t breathe deeply our diaphragm isn’t working like it should and the movement of our digestive tract and other organs is not happening like it should so they stagnate too. Another problem is we breathe too much hot air. Any race car or diesel mechanic knows that the colder the air is the more dense it is and the more you can stuff in a small area and thus get more oxygen to that area. That’s why those of us that like to go fast and have big power when we stomp on the throttle like to install intercoolers on our vehicles! So my recommendation is to breathe a lot more than the usual that we do, and a further benefit is to step outside in the cold, barefoot is even better because that stabilizes energy (ever jump on a trampoline and then zap someone you wanted to surprise? That’s the kind of energy I am talking about; we get it from a lot of places other than the trampoline and if we wear rubber soled shoes all day it often doesn’t find a way out. It’s a bit silly but it is so simple to do!) Once you are outside in the clean, cool air take a deep breath filling your lungs all the way to the bottom and push it out all the way. Do this as much as you can until you start to get a little dizzy, see if you can increase the number of breaths you can take every day. Oh, and please breathe through your nose, forget this mouth breathing, that is only for emergencies when your nose is plugged or you can’t get enough volume through your nose. The nose is designed to condition the incoming air with filters and temperature so the incoming air is just right for the lungs. Use the things God made for us and breathe through your nose.
Water is probably the most neglected for most people. It’s so bad that I would be willing to bet that almost everybody is dehydrated right this minute, including me! For an active person my size to be properly hydrated he should drink a gallon of water per day. I drink way less than that, though I don’t do the far worse thing and substitute soft drinks, coffee or other nasty substance for the water I do drink like many people do. Our bodies are made to run on water, not sugar and acid. If we don’t have enough water our blood has to work harder, our muscles cannot clean out right, our digestion slows, our brains fog, and our skin can’t do its job cleansing out toxins. Not drinking enough water is really a bad choice. That’s clean water, not the salt brine that is in a lot of areas or the toxic waste dump that is the usual city water system. I am blessed to have good water here but Dad’s place has water about as bad as the ocean, you don’t need to add salt when cooking with it! Please watch for fluoride in the water. If you don’t know how bad that stuff is please look for yourself and find out. It’s really nasty and the guy that decided to put it in drinking water should be marooned on Mars. If you don’t know about it feel free to let me know and I’ll try to point you in the right direction to find the information you need to see.
Exercise is more important than people usually think. I would say that if I had to choose between a fast food diet with plenty of water and tons of exercise all day every day and a perfect diet with not enough water and little exercise I would take the fast food. Water and exercise can make up for an awful lot of junk food, though water, exercise and good food is far better! By exercise I mean getting your heart pounding and huffing and puffing for several hours or more every day outside in the clean air and sunshine. Forget this business of a club membership where you have air conditioned sterile rooms with some sort of machine. If you don’t have any better place to exercise then come to my house and I’ll put you to work. If you are sweating then you are probably getting enough exercise. Some kinds are a little better than others in my opinion, for instance, riding horses or swimming are especially good for the lymph system, which needs all of the help it can get because it doesn’t have a pump like the heart is to move the fluid and when we are dehydrated it is thicker and hard to move anyway. Swimming and riding horses act as a pump in a way to move the lymph fluids around to do its job. Running is also especially good. Chopping wood, digging holes, throwing bales of hay, you get the picture.
Good food is often hard to get these days, if it isn’t totally poison it’s dead and processed to oblivion and if it isn’t that then it was grown on devitalized and chemically sterilized soils so it’s deficient in food value anyway. That is why I grow my own garden, though last year was a poor one, when I eat a carrot I want to know that it has all of the calcium etc. that it was meant to have, unlike the hybrid gutless wonder food that is on the market in most stores. Hybrids are often bred to not uptake certain trace minerals so they will do better on deficient soils. Great work guys! Make the food lesser quality so the farmer can grow something that looks good on poor ground. So an open pollinated variety won’t grow as well on that ground, fix the soil and it will do fine since it was made to use all of the nutrients instead of leaving some out.
Some things we like to eat are just plain not worth the good taste. If you want really good health you can forget about eating the tons of sugar you used to eat. Throw out the chocolate too, I love the stuff but it makes my teeth hurt. Want to know why? It’s because chocolate has some oxalic acid in it which binds up calcium, add the white sugar that it’s loaded with which draws calcium to itself and then takes it out of your body and you have a very effective calcium drain. It will even pull it out of your bones, which is why my teeth hurt if I eat it. I still eat it sometimes and I shouldn’t, I know I’ll regret it someday if I don’t stop. I have never been to a dentist for any real work and have never had a cavity. I also didn’t know what sugar tasted like until I was about 5 years old, and then it was such a rare thing that I hardly ever tasted it. Chocolate was an unknown to me.
You know, you can eat all of the right things but if you don’t chew your food properly that food will sit in your stomach and rot which makes poison anyway so please chew your food well. Don’t eat the puss ball chickens from the store and please don’t eat the artificially colored, rotten so called beef you get there either. Homegrown chickens that actually ate a bug or two are so much better tasting and they are healthier too, and a cow that has actually eaten grass in a pasture instead of a force fed and half dead Holstein right off the milk line that has been filled with Monsanto’s wonder GMO drugs and antibiotics will make for much better eating and health. So it may be a little more tough, so what, try chewing your food like God designed instead of eating mush all the time. If you look at some of the ways the food at the grocery store has been grown and processed you may get sick, sick from the sight, sick from the smell and sick from eating it. I suggest you grow your own and if you can’t then find someone that can and buy your food from them. It is far better than the iceberg lettuce from
I suspect that most everyone that reads this realizes that diet has a lot to do with health, whether good or bad. But for those who may be dumb enough to think that diet doesn’t have anything to do with health (yes there are people that have that opinion) I’ll tell about Sir Robert McCarrison’s study. It should be interesting to everyone else too. Sir Robert spent 10 years with the Hunzukuts (I hope I spelled that right) of northern
Another researcher, a Mr. Pottenger, did a similar study with cats and cooked food. I’ll save space and just say that the cats that were fed nothing but cooked meat and cooked milk degraded after a few generations to eating each other and finally having deformed offspring and then became entirely sterile, effectively ending the experiment. Just adding raw milk or raw meat cured the condition. I am not endorsing eating raw meat but I do suggest eating something raw with every meal, preferably more than just the lettuce, which is little more than water.
I don’t do everything perfect, I never drink enough water and I probably don’t get as much exercise as I should. I do my own cooking so I don’t go to great lengths to make anything very good. Homemade bread from two years ago wheat crop and real butter makes up a good portion of my meals, the other meals usually consist of oatmeal or popcorn. Not much raw during the winter, though in the summer I more than make up for it. At least the honey on the oatmeal is raw! I don’t think you have to do everything perfect, it helps but if you stress about it that does more harm than just eating that cookie or whatever it may be. There are a few things that I just can’t put up with for myself, some of which are margarine, coffee, soft drinks, and anything with artificial sweeteners. Oh, I have to mention those horrible things. Just don’t bother even touching artificial sweeteners. They are not even fit for rat poison, it wouldn’t give the rats a fair chance! Some of the names are Splenda, NutraSweet, Aspartame, and I am sure there are others but I can’t think of them now. If you look, you will find that the majority of them come right out of Monsanto, at least the research does. I wouldn’t trust anything that came from Monsanto even if it were delivered by an angel. More than likely it would be a demon in disguise. If it comes from Monsanto you can be relatively sure it will be either poison or something incredibly messed up. These artificial sweeteners are both. One that is really popular right now is Splenda, which is actually made from regular white sugar but they have to fit into this low carb diet craze so they treat the sugar with regular chlorine bleach and they modify the molecule so it is not recognizable by your body as something in existence so the body freaks and gets rid of it without assimilating it. Sounds good right? You can eat the sugar without assimilating it! Too bad it isn’t that simple. Some of the side effects of Splenda found in the pre approval research done by the manufacturer are:
Shrunken thymus glands (up to 40%).
Enlarged liver and kidneys.
Atrophy of lymph follicles in the spleen and thymus.
Reduced growth rate.
Decreased red blood cell count.
Extension of pregnancy.
Abortions.
Among many others. Most people know that Nutra Sweet (Aspartame) results in high formaldehyde levels in the brain among other major health risks. Why do we keep listening to Monsanto and the other huge monopolies when they say this stuff is perfectly safe? Why do we believe the “research” when the researchers have both hands in the wallets of the manufacturer and would never find anything contrary to what the manufacturer wants? I could go on and on with this subject because it is a prevalent problem in government, agriculture, medicine and food production, probably in many other fields.
There are plenty of other things that are terrible to eat but this is a good start. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out and it isn’t hard to eat right, what seems to be hard for people is the more important part dealing with attitude and joy. I am not qualified to go into that subject yet, I hope to be someday soon though!
